Florida Hosts First MMA Summer Camp in Cuba
Florida, Cuba, is making history as it proudly hosts the First Mixed Martial Arts Summer Camp “Nuevas Brisas”. The groundbreaking event highlights the nation’s growing commitment to combat sports. From August 21 to 24, the city will serve as the epicenter of MMA training, knowledge sharing, and athletic development.
Training, Seminars, and Workshops
The camp includes a packed schedule of seminars, workshops, and joint training sessions. These activities will be led by Sensei Manuel Labrada Batista, a Seventh degree black belt and President of the Cuban Mixed Martial Arts System. As a result, athletes, coaches, and referees will gain first-hand instruction on updated rules, competition formats, and modern training systems.
Elevating Athletes and Coaches
The core mission of the “Nuevas Brisas” Summer Camp is clear: improve training methods, boost athlete preparation, and enhance referee performance across Cuba. In addition, with participants from several provinces, the camp encourages collaboration among fighters, coaches, and sporting officials. Consequently, it raises the overall standard of MMA in the country.
A Gala to Conclude the Camp
To close the event, a special MMA Gala will feature live demonstrations by guest masters and elite athletes. This celebration of skill and discipline will serve as an inspiring finale. Furthermore, fans and participants will witness the progress achieved during the four-day camp.
The Cuban MMA System and Project Odiseo
Cuba’s Mixed Martial Arts System continues to expand thanks to innovative initiatives. Among them is Project Odiseo, which introduces updated learning models and advanced training tools. Therefore, it represents a bold step toward aligning Cuban MMA with international standards. In the end, athletes will be better prepared to compete on the global stage.
As Florida hosts this historic camp, it not only celebrates the success of Cuban MMA but also sets the tone for the sport’s future development in the country.
