KeMonito Reborn: New Name After Legal Battle with CMLL
In a dramatic twist that surprised wrestling fans, the beloved mascot KeMonito has officially adopted a new name. After losing a legal battle with the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), he now goes by the name Don Changuito QJ. The man behind the iconic blue suit, Jesus Juarez Rosales, begins a new phase. KeMonito Reborn: New Name After Legal Battle with CMLL is more than a headline-it’s a reinvention after decades on the scene.
Social Networks Deleted
According to wrestling journalist Edson Ortiz, CMLL not only reclaimed the name KeMonito. It also deleted all of Juárez’s social media accounts. Although he was the original creator and performer of the character, he never registered the legal rights. Unfortunately, he unknowingly assigned them in exchange for job stability.
The Return as Don Changuito QJ
Without a digital voice, Juarez reappeared on Instagram with the new name Don Changuito QJ. Still, he keeps his heritage alive. His bio now proudly reads:
“Your friend, the original Que Monito, now with a new image.”
This rebranding represents a new beginning. The decision comes on the heels of a 2023 court ruling that favored CMLL in a lawsuit where Juarez accused them of fraud, harassment and labor negligence.
Voices Silenced, But Not Forgotten
Former CMLL commentator Leobardo Magadan shared an emotional interview with Juarez on his YouTube podcast. However, the video was quickly removed following a complaint from CMLL. As a result, Magadán harshly criticized the company for what he called “shameful censorship in the digital age.”
From KeMonito to KeMalito
In a surprising and somewhat cruel move, CMLL has introduced a darker version of the character: KeMalito, who now fights in Arena Mexico.
Although he has been vetoed and hurt, Don Changuito QJ is still present in the hearts of his fans. The fight is not over. In fact, it has just begun-with a new name.
