May 16th, third round and Netflix cameras catch Team Diaz working like a Formula 1 race team. All hands on Diaz, the corner desperately trying to stop the blood flow. Then whistle blows and we see cutman Jacob ‘Stitch’ Duran make the call, “NO, not going out.”
Stockton’s favorite warrior is officially on the warpath after a brutal return to the cage. Following a bloody technical knockout defeat against Mike Perry at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, the MMA legend Nate Diaz finally broke his silence on social media.
Mike Perry Leaves Nate Diaz Leaking
The inaugural Most Valuable Promotions MMA card billed this fight as the co-main event with viewers expecting five-rounds of action.
First round, they felt each other out with Perry landing precise power punches and Diaz getting more comfortable by the strike. In the second, Perry exploded with a relentless barrage of heavy strikes that landed all over Diaz, drawing blood from multiple facial cuts.
Although the West Coast fan favorite showed his signature durability, the damage proved too severe for his corner to allow the bout to continue.
Nate Diaz Demands Rematch
Not even two weeks later, Diaz resurfaced on Instagram sharing a few select images with his 7.2 million followers, praising Perry and also looking to run it back.
“Now I’ve got a target,” Diaz posted on Instagram, officially declaring that hunting season has arrived. The strong statement proves that the legendary competitor has no intention of hanging up his gloves.
Diaz also mentioned he wasn’t happy with his activity. This fight proved he’s still worth the price of admission. They better be calling now.
