Las Grutas
Las Grutas recently hosted a thrilling combat sports gathering. The event took place at 885 Golfo San Jorge Street. Fighters from various categories joined for a day of intense training. They shared valuable experiences and engaged in heavy sparring. This meeting broke the traditional mold. It showcased the massive regional growth of mixed martial arts, kickboxing, and boxing.
A Powerful Mix of Martial Arts Disciplines
Team Puñalef Calfín from San Antonio Oeste proudly represented traditional boxing. These athletes shared the mats with students from Franco Risco. Two special guests stood out. Boxers Carlos “Charita” Aranda and Ian “Chinito” Pereyra used these key sparring sessions for upcoming fights. They are preparing for the prestigious “Coliseo XXII” festival on July 25 in Viedma.
Lautaro Silva’s kickboxing school also joined the action. This created a beautiful integration with the host gym, Cráneos Rojos. At this local gym, Risco’s students practice both kickboxing and MMA. This unique diversity opens the door for even more contact sports variants to join future regional events. Athletes adapted their normal routines to face off in friendly matchups. Respect, learning, and genuine camaraderie ruled the day.
Future Fights and Regional Growth
After the sessions ended, Risco shared his joy.
“I have been fighting for this for a long time. Getting these schools together is a dream. We leave with full hearts and bruised faces. Unity makes strength,” he explained.
Exciting new challenges are around the corner. Amateur debuts are set for late August. In September, the legendary Fight Club event returns. Risco himself will finally step into the ring for this prestigious tournament. He praised Lautaro for forging a successful path as a kickboxing coach.
Building a Stronger Community Together
Gabriel Calfín genuinely thanked Risco for the warm invitation. Working together helps everyone grow. Calfín noted that these collaborative meetings give young athletes crucial experience against different styles.
San Antonio Oeste will proudly host the next combat sports summit. Gyms across the local region will continue working closely together to build fresh opportunities for young competitors.
