Rolling War 3 and the growth of Colombian jiu-jitsu
Rolling War 3 and the growth of Colombian jiu-jitsu will be connected this August 22nd in Bogotá. The third edition of the tournament aims to provide a competitive space where athletes can showcase their skills and continue building their careers.
The event will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will center around the competition for a single belt. However, for its organizers, the goal goes beyond crowning a champion.
“My goal is to build a space for Colombian jiu-jitsu where the skill level of our athletes can be seen by organizations and platforms both nationally and internationally.”
“…explained Juan Carlos “Mustafá Mohamed” to Fajador — an organizer for Rolling War and a figure tied to the combat sports and MMA scene in Colombia.”
The idea also responds to the growth the discipline has experienced in the country. More and more athletes, academies, and competitions are emerging. Because of this, creating consistent events can help fighters gain experience and have more opportunities to showcase their talent.
A belt with sporting value
Rolling War aims for winning to mean more than just the outcome of a single night
The concept for this edition boils down to one clear idea: one belt, one champion.
“I want the Rolling War belt to have real meaning,” Mustafá stated. “So that whoever wins it doesn’t just get a title, but a calling card that propels their career onto bigger and bigger stages.”
In this way, the tournament aims to build recognition around its champions. Additionally, it hopes the Rolling War name will accompany them as part of their competitive journey.
More opportunities for Colombian jiu-jitsu
The growth of a sport also depends on the number of spaces where its athletes can compete.
That is why events like Rolling War can provide experience, consistency, and exposure within the national circuit.
For its organizers, the goal is for the champions to use each appearance as a new step in their careers.
Rolling War 3 will be a new opportunity to gauge the skill level of Colombian jiu-jitsu and, at the same time, continue building platforms for those looking to take their careers further.
