Daniel Blancas Faces a Heavy Hitter in Sergio Jimenez
Super middleweight Daniel Blancas has a tough night ahead. He’s taking on Sergio Jimenez, a veteran who has only tasted defeat once. Blancas brings serious pedigree to the ring. He trains alongside David Benavidez under the sharp eye of Jose Benavidez Sr. The Milwaukee native currently sits at a flawless 15-0 with seven knockouts. He recently pushed through his first 10-round fight in May, dominating Raul Salomon. That unanimous decision win earned him the No. 13 spot in the WBC 168-pound rankings.
“I am so excited to get back in the ring on September 19 in San Diego,” Blancas said. He added that the bout feels extra special since his grandfather will be in the crowd watching him fight professionally for the very first time.
Jimenez isn’t backing down, though. The Mexicali native boasts a 17-1-1 record loaded with 15 knockouts. He plans to throw the young prospect off his game, promising to show Blancas something he’s never seen inside the ropes.
Marco Verde Puts His Perfect Record on the Line
Olympic silver medalist Marco Verde is back in action. He faces a grueling eight-round middleweight clash against the undefeated Guillermo Hernandez. Verde made headlines at the Paris 2024 Olympics, becoming the first Mexican boxer to snag a medal since 1984. Now sitting at 6-0 with three knockouts, the 24-year-old is thriving under manager Eddy Reynoso. He already has two dominant wins in 2026 and wants to keep that momentum rolling.
Across the ring, Hernandez brings his own unblemished 7-0 record. The 29-year-old from Calgary, Canada, is making his United States debut. Hernandez just went eight full rounds for the first time in May to secure a commanding decision win. Both guys have zero losses, and Hernandez has made it clear they are ready to go to war.
Pitbull Cruz and Nestor Bravo Headline the Card
The night ultimately belongs to Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz. The Mexican superstar will defend his WBC Interim Super Lightweight Title in the 12-round main event. He’s going up against Nestor Bravo, a gritty Puerto Rican contender with only a single loss on his record.
Right before that, the co-main event delivers another high-stakes matchup. WBC Interim Middleweight Champion Jesus “Mono” Ramos Jr. squares off against his undefeated mandatory challenger, Meiirim Nursultanov.
