International Competition and Community Spirit
The festival will include International Amateur Boxing Tournaments with teams from Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, adding a distinct international flavor to the lineup. “We’ve been waiting to combine boxing and MMA in one event in the city,” explained Bruno Giletta, part of the organizing team. Giletta shared that the goal is to bring high-caliber amateur boxing matches to the area. “There aren’t many people in the country capable of organizing both boxing and MMA at this scale, so it’s a privilege to bring it all to San Francisco,” he said.
The tournament will kick off on Friday evening, November 22, with fights featuring a new generation of local boxers. Following these, the amateur boxing tournament will open with national teams from Chile, Brazil, and Argentina, each with 5 to 10 athletes. The draw will take place on Thursday, deciding which fighters advance to Saturday’s finals at 9:30 p.m.
Boxing and MMA, Side by Side
Saturday’s MMA event will begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue until 8:30 p.m., with two sections set up at the Superdomo—a professional boxing ring and a separate cage for MMA bouts. “We’re collaborating closely with the city to ensure the success of this event, and we invite the entire community to come out and support it,” Giletta said.
Entertainment, and Family Fun
Aside from the thrilling fights, “Fin de Semana Extremo” will offer a wide range of family-friendly activities, making it a full-scale festival. Starting on Friday at 8:00 p.m., attendees can explore a food truck area, participate in giveaways, and relax in a children’s zone. On Saturday, along with the MMA bouts, there will be live musical performances to have an amazing weekend!
Giletta’s Vision for the Future of San Francisco’s Combat Sports
For Giletta, the festival is more than an event—it’s a way of giving back to his hometown. “My commitment to San Francisco is personal,” he said, adding that while he works on a global scale, this event is close to his heart. “Though there are few licensed professionals in San Francisco right now, we hope to inspire and elevate local athletes through this tournament.”
With “Fin de Semana Extremo,” San Francisco combat sports fans are in for an action-packed showcase of skill, dedication, and international talent, all set in an atmosphere that celebrates community spirit. Don’t miss this extraordinary weekend of boxing, MMA, and much more at the Superdomo
