León Ignites with Explosive MMA Action This August
León, Guanajuato is gearing up for a combat sports showdown as Bajío Elite Fighters launches its first major MMA event at Arena Team Máquinas on August 9. With 15 high-impact fights, including a featured women’s bout, this isn’t just another fight night—it’s a platform to elevate local MMA talent.
The event is led by Sports Director Alfredo Larios Mijares, whose goal is to scout, develop, and promote fighters from Guanajuato and surrounding states. According to Larios, “We’re not interested in fake records. We want real competition and skill. This is about performance, not padding stats.” Fighters were handpicked after sparring evaluations and will compete in bouts ranging from intermediate to advanced levels.
Featured Matchups and Fighters to Watch
One of the most talked-about matchups is Máquina Infernal vs. Gerardo Luna—a thrilling clash between a luchadorand a grappler. This stylistic contrast brings something new to the cage. Larios described Máquina Infernal’s performance as “magical,” saying he knows how to connect with the crowd.
Another can’t-miss bout features local favorite Alessandro Juárez facing off against rival Fernando Grimaldo in a Pro Muay Thai rematch at 58kg. Juárez has lost to Grimaldo twice but promises this will be different. “I’m smarter, stronger, and more prepared,” he said.
In addition, Juan Antonio González is fired up for his 135-pound Pro MMA fight against Israel Muñoz. “I’ll keep it standing and go for the knockout,” González confidently stated.
To top it off, Fernanda Montreal Serna and Daniela Rivera will battle in a 60kg amateur striking match, adding more excitement to an already stacked card.
Tickets are available at Arena Team Máquinas, located at Calle Galilea 206, Colonia San Felipe de Jesús. For more updates, follow Bajío Elite Fighters on social media.
