Yesterday, Bogota reached a historic milestone by celebrating Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the City Council Plaza. This special event was organized by Councilman Andrés Onzagawho highlighted the transformative impact of the sport on youth and its growing influence in the city.
Honoring Bogota’s MMA Champions
- Javier Reyes Rugelesknown as “BlairBlair,” is a Colombian MMA star with an impressive 19-4 record. He was recently awarded the Civil Order of Merit, Silver Cross Degree.. His dedication and accomplishments inspire future generations of fighters. Competing in the featherweight division, he has proven his talent in top-level leagues such as Combate Globalthe top Hispanic MMA league in the U.S., and in other international organizations such as the LFA. In 2024, Reyes earned key victories in FFC 82 and LFA, consolidating his dominance. He trains in Las Vegas under the guidance of his head coach, Cesar Moreno, at Bareknuckle MMA. His hard work and perseverance have made him a true champion.
- Alex Torresknown as “Rolohas demonstrated his talent in leading organizations such as Combate Global, as well as in international leagues such as LFA, Brave CF and the UFC. With a professional record of 12-7-0 (1 NC), Torres has opened doors for other Colombian fighters to compete on a global level. He represents Bogota, Colombia, and is affiliated with Octagon MMA. His solid wrestling background and tireless determination inspire future generations. This achievement earned him the prestigious Nota de Estilo award, recognizing his impact on the sport.
- MATCHMAKER received a Style Note for its dedication to the development of MMA and the support of local talent. Thanks to its alliances with international leagues such as Global Combat and global broadcast networks, this organization has positioned Bogota on the international stage, highlighting the city and its fighters.

During his speech, Councilman Onzaga highlighted the role of the MMA in social transformation. He stated: “This sport builds champions and responsible citizens. Bogota will continue to support programs that inspire and uplift our youth.”
