WBC Heavyweight Championship takes center stage
On September 20, the National Gymnasium José Adolfo Pineda at San Salvador will host an exciting heavyweight fight. The Nigerian Kingsley Ibeh (15-2-1, 13 KO’s) will take on American Gerald Washington (21-6-1). Both will compete for the vacant WBC FECARBOX heavyweight title.
This will not be just any fight. On the contrary, it is a key moment in Salvadoran sports history.
Gerald Washington: a life of combat in and out of the ring
Gerald Washington, born April 23, 1982, is an American professional boxer of African-American and Mexican roots. His career has been marked by explosive wins, losses to big names like Deontay Wilder and a perseverance that keeps him relevant in the heavyweight division.
WBC and El Salvador join forces
