Cádiz Represents Spain on the Global Stage
Cádiz delivered a powerful performance at the Combat Ju-Jutsu World Championship in Madrid, proving once again its rising status in the world of martial arts. Combat Ju-Jutsu, one of Japan’s oldest and most versatile disciplines, continues to evolve. This global event showcased more than 500 competitors from 20 countries between November 27 and 29. Representing Spain with pride, Origen Academy brought two talented athletes who stood out against international competition.
Young Talent: Miguel Casas Wins World Bronze
At just 11 years old, Miguel Casas Romero competed in the -40 kg category and secured a remarkable bronze medal. His journey was exceptional, earning him a place on the world podium. Even after a tough semifinal bout against Ukraine, his skill, heart, and determination impressed everyone watching. Miguel’s achievement marks a major milestone in his young career and promises a bright future for Cádiz in the global martial arts scene.
Manu Mariscal Becomes Double World Champion
In the -77 kg adult division, Manuel Mariscal showed dominance from start to finish. He captured not one, but two World Championship titles in Close Combat and Ground Combat. His victories came against strong athletes from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belgium, and finally Kyrgyzstan in the exciting final matchup. Manu secured all his wins by applying flawless leg locks and arm locks, demonstrating technical mastery and unmatched control.
This incredible accomplishment follows his European Championship victory in 2022, confirming him as one of Spain’s most successful Combat Ju-Jutsu athletes.
A Historic Moment for Cádiz Martial Arts
These unforgettable achievements highlight the strength, discipline, and passion of Cádiz competitors. Combat Ju-Jutsu combines throws, joint locks, chokeholds, strikes, and control techniques. It teaches how to use an opponent’s energy against them, making it possible for a smaller fighter to overcome a stronger rival.
With Miguel and Manu leading the way, Cádiz now stands tall at the top of world martial arts—proud, victorious, and ready for more.
