A peaceful Saturday in Chelsea took a terrifying turn when ex-member Caleb Perry, 23, walked into Radical MMA and stabbed a 24-year-old student three times in the back. Chaos Erupts at Radical MMA NYC!
The incident happened just before noon on West 29th Street. Perry, who was banned from the gym last year for undisclosed reasons, asked for management before suddenly confronting and attacking the unsuspecting student.
Quick-Thinking Fighters Stop the Assault
Despite being wounded, the victim fought back, managing to restrain Perry with help from fellow students. Police arrived moments later and took the attacker into custody.
The injured student was transported to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition, according to police.
Gym Owner Confirms Perry’s Troubled Past
Radical MMA founder Rene Dreifuss said Perry had been expelled from the academy years ago.
“He came in and randomly attacked another student,” Dreifuss told reporters. “Thankfully, our students reacted quickly and controlled the situation.”
