Cinta De Oro Brings Lucha Libre to Empower El Paso Kids
EL PASO, TEXAS – Cinta De Oro brings lucha libre to empower El Paso kids while giving back to the community that shaped his journey. Before dazzling fans worldwide with his high-flying moves, the luchador found inspiration in El Paso’s Segundo Barrio. As a child, he spent countless hours at the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso, playing basketball and making lifelong memories.
Now, the former WWE star (once known as Sin Cara) is stepping back into the ring for a cause close to his heart — raising funds for the very club that played a pivotal role in his life.
Lucha Libre Events to Fund Club Improvements
Starting March 22, Cinta De Oro’s wrestling promotion will host monthly lucha libre events at the club’s indoor basketball court. Tickets range from $10 to $30, with a portion of proceeds supporting building repairs and educational programs.
“The Boys & Girls Club played a key role in shaping who I am today,” Cinta De Oro said. “This is my chance to give back and inspire the next generation.”
Monika Acevedo, his talent manager, highlighted the urgency of the fundraising effort. “This historic building needs a lot of love — heating, cooling, wall repairs, you name it. We’re talking about $50,000.”
A Call for Community Support
Acevedo urged local businesses and alumni to step up. “Every penny counts. Sponsorships are tax-deductible, and they directly help the club.”
Anthony Tomasheski, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of El Paso, praised Cinta De Oro’s generosity. “He has the biggest heart and is doing so much for us. This partnership helps us keep the lights on.”
A Fun-Filled Future
Fresh off a retirement tour with lucha legend Hijo Del Santo, Cinta De Oro promises family-friendly match cards featuring global wrestling stars.
“We want to sell out and create unforgettable memories,” he said. “It’s about bringing joy to the community and supporting the kids.”
