Following its departure from Univision after a phenomenal six-year run with the network, Combate Global announced today that it has partnered with EstrellaTV on a multi-year deal that includes 20 live events at the media company’s Burbank, California-based media studio in 2026.
According to the official announcement, the 2026 live event series will begin in February, and the exact start date will be announced soon.
“Our partnership with COMBATE GLOBAL enables us to create customizable sponsorship opportunities around live sports,” said Brian Fisher, Chief Revenue Officer, MediaCo, “We are excited to bring creative firsts to sponsors and to be a part of the action through innovative marketing tactics and media everywhere.
“COMBATE GLOBAL will now deliver Much More Action from the west coast, in the town known for star power, and we are adding our own lineup of powerful stars and great story telling,” said COMBATE GLOBAL CEO Campbell McLaren.
“As a shareholder and a fan of COMBATE GLOBAL, I am thrilled that the company is moving to Los Angeles and EstrellaTV,” said famed, award-winning Mexican actress and COMBATE GLOBAL investor, Kate Del Castillo.
Combate Global’s move to EstrellaTV comes after a six-year run with the Miami, Fla.-based Univision, where the MMA company established the highest-viewed late-night television show in Spanish.
Next year’s live event schedule will be far more aggressive than this year’s schedule, which totaled eight live events, including Combate Global’s long-awaited return to Mexico City.
On August 28, “Combate Global: Mexico vs. Argentina” featured four different Mexican competitors square off with opponents from Argentina. Argentina was victorious in three of the four contests.
For the Combate Global franchise, the year was also highlighted by the MMA rules debut of three-time women’s world boxing champion Kenia “The Mexican Queen” Enriquez (2-0 MMA; 28-1, 11 KO’s Boxing), who collected her first two wins in the sport.
