Enoc Solves Steals the Show at WOW 22
Madrid was buzzing as WOW MMA returned with its 22nd event. The spotlight was on the new light heavyweight title(92.9 kg), contested by two of Spain’s top fighters—Darwin Rodríguez and Enoc Solves. Rodríguez, 32, entered the bout as a clear favorite. He had age, momentum, and even past contact with Dana White’s Contender Series on his side. Enoc Solves Steals the Show at WOW 22.
Veteran Enoc Solves Stuns Madrid
At 41 years old, Enoc Solves proved that age is just a number. The Spanish MMA veteran holds impressive rankings on Tapology: #44 in Pro Light Heavyweight across Europe, #17 in Western Europe, and #2 nationally in Spain. He brought all that experience into the cage.
Rodríguez came out strong and rocked Solves early. After the fight, Solves admitted he saw double during the opening round. But he refused to quit. In the second round, he flipped the script. Once the fight hit the ground, Solves seized top position, dominated the scramble, and locked in a tight submission. Rodríguez was forced to tap.
With this victory, Solves made history as the first-ever WOW light heavyweight champion. He now holds championship gold in both WOW and AFL, cementing his place as one of Spain’s top light heavyweight fighters.
What’s Next? PFL in Sight
Solves isn’t done yet. He plans to defend both belts and is open to fighting in PFL if the promotion lands in Spain. He even hinted at working with Costello van Steenis on that front.
For Rodríguez, the loss snaps his win streak and leaves him needing a strong rebound.
Colombo Rebounds in Style
Before the main event, fan favorite Miguel Ángel “Colombo” Lozano stepped into the cage. After losing his undefeated record in March, he returned with a vengeance. His opponent, Everton Cruz, tried to wrestle him down. Colombo reversed, took top position, and rained down punches. The referee waved it off after Cruz failed to defend. It was a dominant win for the Colombian, now based in Spain.
