At just nine years old, he learned silkscreening from Bay Area artist Michael Roman, helping design t-shirts for Carlos Santana. This early taste of the creative world led him naturally into music promotion. Working at Fama Records under Universal Music and Video Distribution, he helped market iconic acts like Malo, Tierra, and Los Tigres Del Norte. He eventually stepped into the role of Promotions Director, collaborating with Grammy-winners like Tony Coronado and Billboard top artist Los Amos De Nuevo Leon until 2004. He also served as a voting member of the Latin Recording Academy and an active ASCAP publisher. In 2005, Ra\u00fal helped spark a massive cultural shift in American radio. Joining a small foundational team at Univision, he helped launch the La Kalle Network\u2014the first U.S. network to roll out a national reggaeton format. Introducing the genre to major markets like San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and New York meant working on the ground with its pioneers, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, and Wisin y Yandel. His work hasn't been limited to music. Ra\u00fal has also been involved in the release of 12 films ON DVD and on Sony Playstation, collaborating with Bay Area filmmakers The Quiroz Brothers, actor Todd Bridges, and Friday the 13th creator Victor Miller. Later, he brought his background in entertainment to the brand side, joining PGW before it was acquired by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). As a Regional Field Marketing Manager, he helped build what is now CAA Experiential under the guidance of Russ Jones the head of Global Branding at CAA.
