La senadora <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Keren_Riquelme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Keren Riquelme<\/a> ha propuesto designar el 18 de julio como<em>\u00abD\u00eda de la Lucha Libre de Carlos Col\u00f3n\u00bb<\/em> para celebrar el legado del emblem\u00e1tico luchador <a href=\"https:\/\/fajador.com\/es\/subriel-matias-victoria-por-nocaut-en-puerto-rico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">puertorrique\u00f1o<\/a>, que transform\u00f3 la escena de la lucha libre en la isla desde la d\u00e9cada de 1970. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Riquelme explic\u00f3 la motivaci\u00f3n de la propuesta:  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00abTras escuchar a muchos aficionados puertorrique\u00f1os y reconocer la importancia de este deporte en nuestra cultura, presentaremos legislaci\u00f3n para conmemorar el 18 de julio de cada a\u00f1o como &#8216;D\u00eda de la Lucha Libre&#8217; en honor a Carlos &#8216;Carlitos&#8217; Col\u00f3n. Su nombre es conocido a trav\u00e9s de generaciones, y ha elevado el perfil de Puerto Rico en escenarios nacionales e internacionales.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Homenaje al Icono de la Lucha Libre de Puerto Rico<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carlos Col\u00f3n, ampliamente conocido como<em>\u00abEl Acr\u00f3bata De Puerto Rico<\/em>\u00ab, ha sido una figura dominante en la lucha libre puertorrique\u00f1a durante m\u00e1s de cinco d\u00e9cadas. Nacido el 18 de julio de 1948 en <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jauca_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Juaca, Santa Isabel<\/a>, Col\u00f3n no s\u00f3lo prosper\u00f3 como atleta, sino tambi\u00e9n como hombre de negocios. En 1973, junto con V\u00edctor Jovica, cofund\u00f3 Capital Sport Promotions, la empresa de lucha libre con m\u00e1s \u00e9xito de <a href=\"https:\/\/fajador.com\/es\/xander-zayas-surge-un-nuevo-heroe-en-puerto-rico\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Puerto<\/a>Rico, que sigue funcionando hoy en d\u00eda.  <\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>\u00abEstoy convencido de que tanto los aficionados como el p\u00fablico comprender\u00e1n lo merecido que es este honor\u00bb, a\u00f1adi\u00f3 Riquelme. \u00abEste d\u00eda nos permitir\u00e1 celebrar la historia de la lucha libre en Puerto Rico y reconocer a su mayor estrella\u00bb. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Si se aprueba, <em> el \u00abD\u00eda de la Lucha Libre Carlos Col\u00f3n\u00bb<\/em> destacar\u00e1 el importante impacto cultural de la lucha libre en Puerto Rico, impulsado por la carrera de su figura m\u00e1s c\u00e9lebre.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>D\u00eda de la lucha libre Carlos Col\u00f3n Puerto Rico se est\u00e1 movilizando para honrar oficialmente a la leyenda de la lucha libre Carlos Col\u00f3n con su propio d\u00eda. Introducing the genre to major markets like San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and New York meant working on the ground with its pioneers, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, and Wisin y Yandel. His work hasn't been limited to music. Ra\u00fal has also been involved in the release of 12 films ON DVD and on Sony Playstation, collaborating with Bay Area filmmakers The Quiroz Brothers, actor Todd Bridges, and Friday the 13th creator Victor Miller. Later, he brought his background in entertainment to the brand side, joining PGW before it was acquired by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). As a Regional Field Marketing Manager, he helped build what is now CAA Experiential under the guidance of Russ Jones the head of Global Branding at CAA. At just nine years old, he learned silkscreening from Bay Area artist Michael Roman, helping design t-shirts for Carlos Santana. This early taste of the creative world led him naturally into music promotion. Working at Fama Records under Universal Music and Video Distribution, he helped market iconic acts like Malo, Tierra, and Los Tigres Del Norte. He eventually stepped into the role of Promotions Director, collaborating with Grammy-winners like Tony Coronado and Billboard top artist Los Amos De Nuevo Leon until 2004. He also served as a voting member of the Latin Recording Academy and an active ASCAP publisher. In 2005, Ra\u00fal helped spark a massive cultural shift in American radio. Joining a small foundational team at Univision, he helped launch the La Kalle Network\u2014the first U.S. network to roll out a national reggaeton format. Introducing the genre to major markets like San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and New York meant working on the ground with its pioneers, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, and Wisin y Yandel. His work hasn't been limited to music. Ra\u00fal has also been involved in the release of 12 films ON DVD and on Sony Playstation, collaborating with Bay Area filmmakers The Quiroz Brothers, actor Todd Bridges, and Friday the 13th creator Victor Miller. Later, he brought his background in entertainment to the brand side, joining PGW before it was acquired by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). As a Regional Field Marketing Manager, he helped build what is now CAA Experiential under the guidance of Russ Jones the head of Global Branding at CAA.
