Nacido en Osorno en 1955, Vargas represent\u00f3 a Chile en los Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos de Munich de 1972 y se convirti\u00f3 r\u00e1pidamente en un icono nacional. Su reinado como campe\u00f3n regional le vali\u00f3 dos desaf\u00edos por el t\u00edtulo mundial contra Miguel Canto en 1977, aunque en ambos intentos fracas\u00f3. Sin inmutarse, Vargas sigui\u00f3 entusiasmando a los aficionados, gan\u00e1ndose el respeto y la admiraci\u00f3n de su pa\u00eds.   <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Aunque nunca consigui\u00f3 un t\u00edtulo mundial, el nombre de Vargas est\u00e1 grabado en la historia del deporte chileno como un s\u00edmbolo de perseverancia y pasi\u00f3n. Su legendaria carrera ser\u00e1 celebrada el 5 de octubre, cuando Talagante honre al hombre que llev\u00f3 el boxeo chileno a la escena mundial. <br\/><br\/><strong>Pedro Miranda: Un Campe\u00f3n de Melipilla<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Junto a Vargas, la velada tambi\u00e9n homenajear\u00e1 a Pedro \u00abRay\u00bb Miranda, otra leyenda del boxeo chileno. Nacido en Melipilla, Miranda se coron\u00f3 campe\u00f3n sudamericano, convirti\u00e9ndose en una figura prominente en su categor\u00eda de peso durante su apogeo. Al igual que Vargas, Miranda dej\u00f3 un legado duradero en el boxeo chileno, inspirando a las generaciones futuras a subir al ring.  <br\/><br\/><strong>Una Noche de Emocionante Acci\u00f3n Box\u00edstica<br\/><\/strong><br\/> El gimnasio Domingo Toro Herrera vibrar\u00e1 con 15 combates que mostrar\u00e1n las habilidades de boxeadores de Santiago, Melipilla y Talagante.
