La 38\u00aa Fiesta Anual del Cinco de Mayo de Portland, celebrada en el Tom McCall Waterfront Park <\/a>, fue una colorida celebraci\u00f3n de la cultura mexicana. Acci\u00f3n de altos vuelos en el ring<\/h3>\n\n

El s\u00e1bado 3 de mayo, los aficionados llenaron el recinto del festival para presenciar un emocionante combate de Lucha Libre. Hero, un luchador enmascarado vestido de rojo y blanco, se encaram\u00f3 a las cuerdas de la esquina, observando a la en\u00e9rgica multitud. Su oponente, Alan Extreme<\/a>, vest\u00eda de verde el\u00e9ctrico y una elaborada m\u00e1scara. <\/p>\n\n

En cuanto Hero salt\u00f3 por los aires, el p\u00fablico estall\u00f3 de emoci\u00f3n. Los dos luchadores deslumbraron al p\u00fablico con volteretas, movimientos a\u00e9reos e incluso llevaron el combate fuera del ring, continuando la batalla sobre la hierba. El p\u00fablico vitore\u00f3 a Hero, que acab\u00f3 triunfando. Levant\u00f3 los brazos, empap\u00e1ndose de los aplausos, antes de estrechar la mano de Alan Extreme. \u00abMe gusta estar en el aire\u00bb, dijo Hero con una sonrisa. \u00abMe gusta correr riesgos\u00bb. <\/p>\n

Una Celebraci\u00f3n de Cultura y Tradici\u00f3n<\/h3>\n\n

Para Hero y Alan Extreme, la lucha libre representa algo m\u00e1s que atletismo. Es una tradici\u00f3n cultural transmitida de generaci\u00f3n en generaci\u00f3n. Alan Extreme dijo: \u00abA mi abuelo le encantaba la lucha libre y la ve\u00edamos juntos todas las semanas. Supe que quer\u00eda ser luchador cuando vi mi primer combate en directo\u00bb. <\/p>\n\n

El evento de este a\u00f1o supuso su primera aparici\u00f3n en Portland. La calidez y el entusiasmo de la multitud les hizo sentirse como en casa. \u00abMe recuerda a casa\u00bb, dijo Hero, mirando el recinto del festival, lleno de comida mexicana, m\u00fasica y un fuerte sentido de comunidad. <\/p>\n\n

La lucha libre no es s\u00f3lo acrobacia. Es una parte esencial de la identidad mexicana. En 2018, la Secretar\u00eda de Cultura de la Ciudad de M\u00e9xico la declar\u00f3 \u00abpatrimonio cultural inmaterial\u00bb. Luchadores como H\u00e9roe y Alan Extreme contin\u00faan este legado. Honran sus ra\u00edces manteniendo viva la tradici\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n

La Fiesta del Cinco de Mayo de Portland se celebr\u00f3 el domingo 4 de mayo y continu\u00f3 el lunes 5 de mayo. El evento celebr\u00f3 la cultura mexicana, reuniendo a la gente con comida, m\u00fasica y emoci\u00f3n. Joining a small foundational team at Univision, he helped launch the La Kalle Network\u2014the first U.S. network to roll out a national reggaeton format. Introducing the genre to major markets like San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and New York meant working on the ground with its pioneers, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, and Wisin y Yandel. His work hasn't been limited to music. Ra\u00fal has also been involved in the release of 12 films ON DVD and on Sony Playstation, collaborating with Bay Area filmmakers The Quiroz Brothers, actor Todd Bridges, and Friday the 13th creator Victor Miller. Later, he brought his background in entertainment to the brand side, joining PGW before it was acquired by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). As a Regional Field Marketing Manager, he helped build what is now CAA Experiential under the guidance of Russ Jones the head of Global Branding at CAA. Born in San Francisco and raised in a family business environment, he found his creative footing early. At just nine years old, he learned silkscreening from Bay Area artist Michael Roman, helping design t-shirts for Carlos Santana. This early taste of the creative world led him naturally into music promotion. Working at Fama Records under Universal Music and Video Distribution, he helped market iconic acts like Malo, Tierra, and Los Tigres Del Norte. He eventually stepped into the role of Promotions Director, collaborating with Grammy-winners like Tony Coronado and Billboard top artist Los Amos De Nuevo Leon until 2004. He also served as a voting member of the Latin Recording Academy and an active ASCAP publisher. In 2005, Ra\u00fal helped spark a massive cultural shift in American radio. Joining a small foundational team at Univision, he helped launch the La Kalle Network\u2014the first U.S. network to roll out a national reggaeton format. Introducing the genre to major markets like San Francisco, Chicago, Miami, and New York meant working on the ground with its pioneers, including Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Nicky Jam, and Wisin y Yandel. His work hasn't been limited to music. Ra\u00fal has also been involved in the release of 12 films ON DVD and on Sony Playstation, collaborating with Bay Area filmmakers The Quiroz Brothers, actor Todd Bridges, and Friday the 13th creator Victor Miller. Later, he brought his background in entertainment to the brand side, joining PGW before it was acquired by Creative Artists Agency (CAA). As a Regional Field Marketing Manager, he helped build what is now CAA Experiential under the guidance of Russ Jones the head of Global Branding at CAA.
