En abril de 2022, Cuba reintrodujo el boxeo profesional, poniendo fin a una prohibici\u00f3n de 60 a\u00f1os que comenz\u00f3 bajo el r\u00e9gimen de Fidel Castro. La prohibici\u00f3n, iniciada en 1962, pretend\u00eda eliminar lo que se percib\u00eda como corrupci\u00f3n en el deporte profesional, obligando a los boxeadores cubanos a seguir siendo aficionados o a desertar para seguir carreras profesionales en el extranjero. Este cambio de pol\u00edtica supone un giro fundamental en el panorama deportivo de Cuba. <\/p>\n\n

La Federaci\u00f3n Cubana de Boxeo, en colaboraci\u00f3n con Golden Ring Promotions, facilit\u00f3 esta transici\u00f3n. <\/p>\n\n
Alberto Puig de la Barca, presidente de la federaci\u00f3n, declar\u00f3: \u00abEmpezamos a estudiar lo que estaba ocurriendo en el mundo del boxeo profesional… dando como resultado el acuerdo aprobado entre el deporte del pa\u00eds y la Federaci\u00f3n Cubana de Boxeo con Golden Ring Promotions.\u00bb <\/p>\n\n
