Evelin Bermudez Stops Sara Bailey
The fight ended quickly. Bailey entered undefeated and confident, but she was knocked down twice within two minutes. The first right hand floored her. She stood up, but she staggered.
Moments later, another right hand sent her crashing again. The referee ended the fight at 1:47 of round one.
Bermudez’s win was decisive. It showed her strength and precision. Her record improved to 22-1-1 with 8 knockouts. Bailey, now 6-1, lost her title in her third defense.
This was Bermudez’s fourth fight outside Argentina. Her previous trip to Canada in 2023 earned her a close win over Kim Clavel. Saturday’s result, however, was more brutal and left no doubt.
The victory also positioned Bermudez for even bigger fights. On the same night, Gabriela Fundora defended her flyweight crown in California. A clash between Bermudez and Fundora is now possible, with undisputed status at stake.
For now, Bermudez stands as the unified champion of three belts. Her knockout win proved she is one of the best fighters in the 108-pound division.
