Sebastian Fundora once again proved why he is one of the most dangerous fighters in the super welterweight division. The towering 6’5½” champion successfully defended his WBC and WBO titles with a dominant fourth-round TKO over Chordale Booker on March 22, 2025, at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas. Fundora used his relentless pressure and overwhelming volume to break down Booker, who struggled to find openings against the champion’s reach and power. In the end, it was Fundora’s precise shot selection and relentless attack that forced the stoppage, cementing his reign at the top of the division.
Fundora Retains Titles with TKO
Coming into this fight, Fundora (22-1-1, 15 KOs) was eager to prove that his aggressive style still made him the most dangerous fighter at 154 pounds. Booker (23-2, 11 KOs), who had been on an impressive six-fight winning streak, was looking to shock the division with an upset victory in his first world title opportunity.
Fight Highlights
Fundora dictated the pace early, using his reach advantage to keep Booker on the back foot. By the third round, Fundora began landing clean, powerful shots that visibly rocked his opponent. In Round 4, he unleashed a devastating combination, dropping Booker with just seconds left in the round. The referee had seen enough, stopping the fight at the 2:51 mark.
Post-Fight Remarks
After the fight, Fundora credited his team and preparation for his dominant performance. “He was moving a lot; I don’t think he wanted to trade at all,” Fundora said.
What’s Next for Fundora?
With his titles secured, Fundora is now eyeing a mandatory defense against rising Puerto Rican star Xander Zayas. He has also expressed interest in a unification bout with IBF champion Bakhram Murtazaliev, which would bring him one step closer to undisputed status in the division.
