León, Guanajuato – celebrates the remarkable career of Jesús Pazos, a renowned kempoist from León, Guanajuato, who was recently inducted into Mexico’s Martial Arts Hall of Fame. This prestigious honor, awarded during the VI National Martial Arts Convention in Mérida, Yucatán, acknowledges Pazos’ dedication to martial arts as an Athlete, Instructor, and Mentor.
With over 30 years of hard work and dedication to his and other’s martial arts experience, Jesús Pazos has become a leading figure in Kempo, a discipline that encompasses weapons, free-hand techniques, and form work. Known for his prowess on both national and international stages, Pazos is a Multi-world, Pan American, and National Champion. His reputation extends beyond his own achievements; he is the founder of the Mexican Institute of Kempo, where he has trained some of the sport’s brightest stars, including his own children, Hans and Faridy Pazos, who have also earned multiple international medals.

The convention, a celebrated gathering that promotes unity among martial arts styles, welcomed over twenty honorees representing diverse disciplines, from karate to modern arnis. While some of these styles are yet to gain federation recognition, the event served as an essential platform for their practitioners, highlighting their dedication and influence within the martial arts community. Pazos’ induction was one of the many moments of pride at the convention, embodying the spirit of respect, skill, and legacy that the event aims to foster.
Among the distinguished honorees, Sensei Sergio Ocampo (Taekwondo) and Francisco Pérez of Shinbudokan Guanajuato joined Pazos in being recognized. The convention also celebrated Joe Cárdenas, a 10th Dan and Red Belt in Kali Eskrima Anis, as well as Grand Master Hernán Carrasco, an American kempo pioneer in Mexico. Other Martial Arts Legends included Daniel Sinhue Martínez, founder of Modern Arnis Martial Arts; Arturo Herre, Hapkido Master; and Manuel Dzib, Tae Bo trainer.
Additional highlights included Kru Victor Montiel from the “Gran Guerrero FK” Muay Thai School and Juan Martin Martinez, a Limalama Master. Esteemed Taekwondo coaches, such as Lorenzo Guzman, Jorge Pena, Alvaro Rebolledo, Nely Ortiz, Isidoro Canche, and Francisco Cruz, also received accolades.
The honor given to Jesús Pazos, however, stood out as a moment of deep appreciation for a life dedicated to martial arts.
