Lucero’s journey into combat sports began from a place of pain. After enduring domestic violence in her marriage, she sought out self-defense training, a choice that changed her life forever. Although her initial journey was filled with obstacles, including a judge denying her protection and pressure from an ex-husband in law enforcement, Lucero’s spirit remained unwavering. At a local self-defense gym she discovered her strength. Within a month, she was in her first fight and, after winning, found a passion that would lead her to a career in professional fighting.
“I clung to the sport without knowing anything at first, but I was driven by the will to live,” Lucero recalls.

Training and Personal Growth
Lucero Acosta’s career has faced numerous challenges, including physical injuries, high personal expectations and a rigorous training regimen encompassing striking, jiu-jitsu, wrestling and conditioning. jiu-jitsu, wrestling and conditioning.. He believes his growth is due not only to his physical abilities but also to his mental preparation, incorporating meditation into his routine. “The body achieves what the mind believes in.” he says, reflecting his strong mentality and determination to succeed in the sport.
In a field often dominated by men, Lucero has worked hard to earn respect and prides herself on proving her worth through her performances. “People underestimate me for being a woman, but I like it. With my fists I have proven that I deserve my place.” says La Loba confidently. Born on August 23, 1994 in Tijuana, Baja California, she made her professional MMA debut on October 11, 2019, with a unanimous decision victory over Valerie Quintero at Combate Global 46. Despite facing setbacks, such as a break and an injury that prevented her from fighting Silvia Juaneda, Lucero has continued to excel, achieving notable victories and maintaining a professional record of 5 wins and 2 losses. Although she had to withdraw from a scheduled fight against Alejandra Lara on May 11, 2024, her MMA journey remains promising.

Family and friends are key to Lucero’s success. She credits her mother, sister and daughter for their unwavering support, especially as she balances her life as a single mother. “It’s difficult, but not impossible. Every sacrifice has its reward.”she reflects.
