2025 Youth MMA World Championship
Three determined fighters from León, Guanajuato, are heading to Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, for the IMMAF Youth MMA World Championship 2025. From July 21 to 27, they will represent Mexico with pride on one of the sport’s biggest youth stages.
The national team includes 36 athletes. Notably, León contributes Giovanni Torres, Ian Gael García, and Kendra Palacios—three names ready to roar. Their journey begins in the group stages, where they must outperform their opponents to reach the elimination rounds.
Giovanni Torres Eyes Victory in Group F
Giovanni Torres, a product of Yudansha Academy, competes in the 135-pound Youth “A” division. In Group “F,” he faces tough matchups against Ireland’s AJ Whitehouse and Italy’s Massimiliano Mazza. However, Giovanni’s focused training and sharp technique give him a strong chance to advance.
Ian Gael and Kendra Palacios Bring the Heat
Meanwhile, Ian Gael García, representing Walholl MMA, enters the 145-pound featherweight Youth “A” bracket. In Group “D,” he will clash with Arlen Szep-Szabo from Ireland, Gabriel Dontiu of Romania, and Georgia’s Giorgi Kakhidze. Each fight is critical, yet Ian’s intensity and tactical approach stand out.
On the women’s side, 15-year-old Kendra “Wonder” Palacios also trains at Walholl MMA. After winning gold at the 2024 Pan American Championship in Monterrey, she’s aiming even higher. Competing in the Youth “B” 48 kg division, she’ll face Mayar Hasaballah (Ireland) and Olena Kalachyk (Ukraine) in Group “C.”
León’s Fighters Ready for Global Glory
Without a doubt, these young lions from León are more than ready. They carry their community’s pride and the country’s hopes into every bout. Their grit, preparation, and ambition make them true contenders on the world stage.
