The Mexico: Combat Sports Commission Ratified for 2024-2027 continues its mission to foster growth in boxing, lucha libre, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). The municipal government’s decision ensures steady progress for these sports. Luis Alberto Muratalla Olivas, the commission’s president, has outlined ambitious goals for the upcoming term.
During the swearing-in ceremony, Rogelio Aranda, Director of the Municipal Government, addressed attendees. He was joined by representatives of the region’s combat sports disciplines, highlighting the community’s collective commitment.
Boxing and MMA Push Forward
Héctor Hernández Vilchis now leads the boxing division. Meanwhile, Edgard Bernabé López Burgueño heads MMA operations. Both leaders bring vast expertise and are actively working to elevate these disciplines.

“Our 2025 agenda will focus on collaboration and creating impactful events,” said Rogelio Aranda. The commission plans to join forces with local promoters, providing more opportunities for athletes and fans in Playas de Rosarito.

Since 2021, the commission has implemented innovative reforms, such as a professional boxing record platform. This system ensures all fights and stats are logged, giving local boxers credibility and motivation to resume their careers.
