Javier “Chunty Boy” Torres will face Walter “Showtime” Luna in St. John
Don’t call it a comeback.
Mexican MMA veteran Javier “Chunty Boy” Torres (12-5) will make his return to MMA action for the first time in slightly over four years when he squares off with Walter “Showtime” Luna (20-17-1) in a light heavyweight (205 pounds/93 kilogram) bout at HyperstrikeFC 2 in St. John on Saturday, Dec. 6.
The 40-year-old Torres, a resident of Phoenix, Ariz. where he owns and operates MMA training camp, Ultimate Kickboxing Fitness (UKF), has fought everywhere from The Ultimate Fighter competition reality show to Combate Global to Bellator and several regional events during his 17-year career, and has fought under boxing, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu combat rules in addition to MMA.
Torres was victorious by way of split decision in his last MMA fight, a matchup with Gregory Milliard on October 16, 2021.
Luna, 38, hails from Tegucgalpa, Honduras, and has amazingly fought a total of five times this year, a feat rarely seen in the high-impact sport.
Thus far, Luna has earned 13 of his 20 career wins by way of knockout or submission.
Also in action at the event will be Dorian Ramos (8-4), who will face Darwin “El Joker” Luna Ortez in a catchweight bout that will be contested at 150 pounds/68 kilograms.
