Sixteen year-old Camila Zamorano is 10-0 as a professional boxer after defeating Argentinian veteran Norj Guro by way of unanimous decision
Sixteen year-old women’s boxing sensation Camila Zamorano (10-0, 1 KO) improved her perfect record with a 10-round unanimous decision over Argentinian veteran Norj Guro (13-9-1, 4 KO’s) in Hermosillo, Son., Mexico on Saturday, Oct 13.
Zamorano’s victory earned her the WBC intercontinental atomweight (105 pounds) title.
The fight, contested with two-minute rounds, was predominately a one-sided affair as Zamorano, a Hermosillo native, kept pumping her jab and remained light on her feet to keep Guro at bay.
Guro was able to maneuver her way inside a few times, but it was to no avail as Zamorano’s head movement and footwork kept the teenager out of any real danger.
In the 10th round, Zamorano turned up her offense, seemingly looking for a stoppage, but was unable to put the gritty Guro down.
