The UFC Mexico card will undergo a last-minute change. Sofía Montenegro was removed due to a health issue. Following her withdrawal, Regina Tarin will face Ernesta Kareckaite.
The change was confirmed by Eurosport’s Marcel Dorff on Tuesday night. The bout will take place at a catchweight.
Tarin is considered the new top prospect of Mexican women’s MMA. Following her withdrawal, Regina Tarin will face Ernesta Kareckaite.
She was also the Budo Sento Championship bantamweight champion. In her last fight, she submitted Nicaragua’s Yurivia Jimenez at TNX 1125.
Kareckaite will have her first fight of 2026. After earning her contract on the Contender Series, she lost her debut against Dione Barboza at UFC 301.
In her next fight, she defeated Nicole Callari by split decision at UFC Vegas 101. Now, the Lithuanian native will look to secure her first win streak during her time in the Octagon.
UFC Mexico will take place this Saturday afternoon at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City.
