Night of Champions MMA in Temixco: A Platform for Talent
The Night of Champions MMA in Temixco marked the 25th edition of this celebrated event, hosted by the Morelos Institute of Sports and Physical Culture (Indem). This key event boosts Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) talent and prepares athletes for the 2025 National Popular Games.
Organized by Armando Mercado Hernández, state MMA delegate and recipient of the 2023 Morelos State Sports Award, the event underscored his commitment to promoting this dynamic sport.
A Day of Action and Inclusion
The event began with an open tournament featuring combat and forms categories. Young participants, some as young as five, showcased the sport’s inclusivity. Later, the main attraction, Night of Champions, brought together top athletes and distinguished guests. Among them, Isaac Mora, coordinator of the National Popular Games, praised Indem’s efforts, led by Juan Felipe Domínguez Robles, in advancing MMA.
Domínguez Robles highlighted Morelos’ strong performance in the National Popular Games, particularly in MMA. He credited this achievement to initiatives by Governor Margarita González Saravia, aimed at expanding sports access to all communities.communities.
A Regional Showcase
The event welcomed participants from municipalities such as Cuernavaca, Xochitepec, and Emiliano Zapata. Additionally, athletes from Texcoco and Nezahualcóyotl in the State of Mexico joined, highlighting the collaborative and inclusive spirit of the Night of Champions.
