From Judo Champion to Sports Leader
Before becoming President of Fedeguayas—the Federación Deportiva del Guayas in Guayaquil—Roberto Ibáñez was already a national icon. Born on January 20, 1985, in Guayaquil, he made history as one of Ecuador’s top judo athletes.
He proudly earned a silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro in the –66 kg division. Additionally, he won bronze at the 2005 Pan American Judo Championships in Puerto Rico and silver in 2008 in Miami.
Now, Ibáñez brings that same focus and dedication to his role as a sports executive, leading Fedeguayas into a new era.
