Dmitry Bivol (23-0, 12 KOs), will be fighting Artur Beterbiev (20-0, 20 KO’s) for the undisputed light heavyweight (175 pounds) championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 12.
The WBA championship belt belongs to Bivol, but will he be able to keep it? The WBC, IBF and WBO belts belong to Beterbiev and he will be placing these belts on the line in the bout.
If Beterbiev wins, he will be the first four belt champion at the weight of 175 pounds.
Beterbiev recently had knee surgery, which could work against him, but can perhaps work for him also because he’s been fighting with a less than perfect knee for a while.
This matter, we will see, may be resolved after the surgery and make him even stronger -something to think about.
Bivol, earned a TKO in the sixth round in his bout with Malik Zinad on June 1, 2024, but had been in a knockout dry spell before that.
I have Beterbiev with the win, but there’s no way to really know until after the fight.
