Featherweight matchup between Ignacio Famozo of Argentina and Nestor Machado of Uruguay headlines the card
A massive 21-bout MMA fight card headlined by a featherweight (145 pounds/65 kilograms) contest between rising star Ignacio “El Fino” Famozo (5-1) and veteran Nestor “El Charrúa” Machado (20-12), will take place under the promotion of Samurai Fight House in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Sunday, Oct. 27.
In the show’s flyweight (125 pounds/56 kilograms) championship co-main event, undefeated Camila Reynoso (4-0) will battle Sofia Landi (3-1) for the vacant Samurai Fight House title.
Famozo, 24, is regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound prospects in Argentina. The Buenos Aires native is looking for his third straight win.
Famozo’s last fight, a July 14 matchup with fellow Argentinian Gian Maurente, which Famozo won by unanimous decision, is regarded as the best quality fight in Samurai Fight House history.
Machado hails from Rivera, Uruguay and is fighting out of Bage, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.
At 44 years old, Machado is the main event’s elder statesman who has competed all over South America throughout his 10-year professional career.
Machado has earned a staggering 16 of his 20 career wins by way of either knockout or submisssion.
Also representing Uruguay on the fight card will be 18-year-old Brandon “Adesanya” Amaro (7-1) who is based in the city of Salto and who will take on Nazareno Pirchio (2-0) in a flyweight fight.
Since making his professional debut at age 16, Amaro has won all of his professional fights to date via knockout, and may be Uruguay’s top pound-for-pound prospect.
Pirchio, 29, will try to secure the first win of his professional career. He will enter the cage for the first time this year.
