Puerto Rican boxer Subriel Matías returned to the ring in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, showcasing his power and resilience with a decisive Knockout against Mexican fighter Roberto Ramírez. The Super Lightweight bout, held at the Rubén Rodríguez Coliseum, ended in just two rounds, marking Matías’s triumphant comeback after losing his IBF title to Liam Paro earlier this year.
Ramírez initially challenged Matías with quick strikes in the opening round, but Matías took control in the second. With a rapid succession of powerful hooks, Matías delivered a left hook that brought Ramírez to his knees, forcing the referee to count him out. “I had to lose on June 15 to be here today. This win means the world to me and my fans,” Matías said after his victory, reaffirming his determination to reclaim a championship title.
The co-main event also highlighted Puerto Rican talent as bantamweight Jayvier Cintrón secured a win against Rashib Martínez of Mexico by unanimous decision, improving his record to 13-1.
Matías, who has faced challenges both in and out of the ring, has steadily rebuilt his career since his loss to Paro. Known for his power and grit, he remains one of the top contenders in the super lightweight division and is aiming to regain a world title soon.
