On October 20, 2024, the Tang Soo Do Spirit Martial Arts School will host a significant tournament at the Ciudad Deportiva Inving Saladino Combat Center, located in Ciudad Bolívar, Panama. This exciting event aims to foster healthy competition and camaraderie among martial artists from various disciplines. With over 80 participants already confirmed, anticipation is building.
Master Eloy Tapia, the founder of the Tang Soo Do Spirit School, emphasized the importance of community and inclusiveness.
“We expect not just competition, but also a spirit of togetherness,” he shared. This tournament will feature competitors ranging from five years old to veterans, ensuring a broad representation of skills and ages.
A technical meeting will take place on October 12, where the rules governing the tournament will be discussed. “We’ll consider the student’s age and rank, ensuring a fair competition for all,” Tapia explained. This inclusive approach not only highlights the talent in martial arts but also enriches the community spirit.
The Tang Soo Do Spirit School was founded three years ago with just four students, and it has now grown to include 15 active students from various ranks. The school teaches not only Martial Arts Techniques but also emphasizes ethical and moral values, ensuring a well-rounded education for its students.
The school has a strong commitment to inclusion, working with children who have disabilities, including ADHD and Autism.
“We don’t just teach self-defense; we also instill values. It’s essential for everyone to have the opportunity to exercise and engage with society,” Tapia stated.
This school is affiliated with the World Traditional Tang Soo Do Union and has achieved remarkable success, including gold and silver medals at an international congress in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2023.
