Top Rank Signs Dominican Olympian Euri Cedeno
Dominican middleweight sensation, Euri “La Bazooka” Cedeñohas signed a long-term co-promotional contract with Top Rankin alliance with King’s Promotions. This new partnership represents a big step in the career of the undefeated southpaw, who represented the Dominican Republic in the Tokyo Olympic Games. He is also one of the top prospects in Dominican boxing. Undoubtedly, Top Rank signs Olympian Euri Cedeño, thus reinforcing its international roster.
Return to the ring scheduled for June 7 in Virginia
Cedeño (11-0-1, 10 KOs) will return to the ring on Saturday, June 7. He will face Ecuador’s Abel Mina (18-3-1, 9 KOs) over 10 rounds. This bout will be part of ESPN+’s preliminary card, featuring Keyshawn Davis vs. Edwin De Los Santos. The event will take place at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
A star in formation
Cedeño is certainly no stranger to the spotlight. He began boxing at the age of five under the guidance of his late father, Aquino, a highly respected trainer in the Dominican Republic. Throughout his amateur career, he fought more than 400 bouts and shined in the Olympic Games. In addition, he scored six consecutive knockouts at the beginning of his professional career. For this reason, many consider him a complete fighter, with power, speed and mettle.
Praise from the legends
“Euri Cedeno is one of the most complete fighters to come out of the Dominican Republic in years,” said Top Rank’s Bob Arum. “He has all the tools to become a real threat at 160 pounds.”
In addition, King’s Promotions CEO Marshall Kauffman stated, “He’s a future star. With Top Rank’s backing, he will win world titles.”
In search of gold
“This I have earned,” Cedeno said. “Over 400 amateur fights, the Olympics and now 11 wins as a pro. But this is just the beginning.”
He added: “On June 7, I will begin the next chapter in my journey to a world championship.”
