The long wait is finally over. Ultimate Combat Challenge returns to Guayaquil, Ecuador, on May 20th. Fans will witness the most extreme combat sports event ever to hit the city. Expect thrilling amateur and professional fights in Mixed Martial Arts, Kickboxing, and Boxing.
A Legacy of Epic Fights
Pancho Bajaña, the event organizer and head coach of 8 Armas Team , is leading the charge. Bajaña previously organized Liga De Fuego in October 2024, featuring 70 intense international bouts. By August 2025, the 9th edition arrived, allowing athletes nationwide to test their skills. Later, Liga De Fuego 9 hosted over 120 fights with competitors from Panama, Chile, Peru, Honduras, and Colombia fighting for championship belts.
Despite Ecuador facing violence and rolling blackouts, Bajana brought immense hope to the combat sports community. As a former professional athlete from past decades, he helped shape Ecuadorian combat sports before regulation. Ultimately, he served as a secretary for the new combat sports commission.
“What these athletes need is hope, a chance to get out and shine,” Bajana stated, emphasizing motivation and confidence.
Joining Forces for Greatness
In October 2025, Bajana partnered with Ramfis Isaacs. Isaacs is the CEO and founder of UCC in Panama. This partnership aims to widen the borders for regional fighters. Isaacs leads the largest combat sports promoter in the region, boasting over one hundred successful broadcasts across Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, and Colombia.
Coming from the television industry, Isaacs always wanted to create professionally produced fight events. He aimed to raise the bar for combat sports production internationally.
Step Inside the Cage
The highly anticipated epic showdown happens this coming May. Event organizers are currently taking online submissions for interested athletes and training gyms eager to actively participate. “We are looking for talented athletes who would absolutely love to leave it all inside the fighting cage,” Bajana proudly added.
