Cejudo and Yadong will fight each other at bantamweight in the Seattle event
Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo (16-4) has been booked to fight top 10 contender Song Yadong (21-8-1) in a UFC Fight Night main event in Seattle on February 22.
ESPN was the first outlet to report this story.
The 37-year-old Cejudo, the fourth fighter in history to simultaneously hold two UFC titles – flyweight (125 pounds/57 kilograms) and bantamweight (135 pounds/61 kilograms) – will compete for the second time since he initially retired in 2020.
Cejudo, the son of Mexican American immigrants, is looking to rebound from two straight defeats – a split decision loss to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 on May 6, 2023 and a unanimous decision loss to Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298 on February 17, 2024.
The 27-year-old Song is the number 8 contender in the UFC’s bantamweight division.
Born in Haerbin, Heilongjiang, China and fighting out of retired, former UFC star Urijah Faber’s camp in Sacramento, Calif., Song is also looking to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Petr Yan at UFC 299 on March 9.
