WBC Inspires Youth at the 16th Panamerican University Congress
The Panamerican University Youth Congress took over the sports calendar once again this year, celebrating its 16th edition on March 19th and 20th at the Camino Real Hotel. A significant event in the world of youth development, this gathering saw notable personalities from various sectors join forces to inspire the leaders of tomorrow.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, along with boxing legends Mariana “Barby” Juarez and Jorge “Travieso” Arce, took center stage at the Congress. The event was organized by Francisco Mieres, the President of the Congress, who welcomed hundreds of young minds eager to make a difference in their fields.
A Day Full of Inspiration and Vision
The Congress also attracted high-profile figures such as Mario Delgado, the head of the Ministry of Public Education, and Citlalí Hernández Mora, the Secretary of Women, who underscored the importance of education and empowerment. But it was the final panel that left attendees buzzing with energy.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman had a powerful message for the crowd: “Always act, make an impact now. You have to work harder than the person next to you, keep dreaming, keep fighting for your dreams. And when you achieve all that, keep working.” His words resonated with the audience, especially when he spoke of the drive needed to reach greatness.
Boxing Legends Share Their Wisdom
Mariana “Barby” Juarez, a true icon in the ring, shared, “Life is very similar to boxing, you fight up and down the ring.” Meanwhile, Jorge “Travieso” Arce moved the crowd with a heartfelt story about a promise he made to his father, vowing to become not just one, but five-time champion.
A Gift for the Future
In a touching gesture, the WBC team, alongside humanitarian ambassador Josejas, surprised attendees with caps and T-shirts—mementos that will surely inspire the youth for years to come.
The 16th Panamerican University Youth Congress was more than an event; it was a call to action for the youth to chase their dreams relentlessly.
