WWE Reveals Bold New Creative Team
WWE has finalized its acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA, and with it comes a bold new creative direction. A report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter revealed a structure that blends WWE executives with lucha libre legends. This new leadership promises to usher in a fresh era for AAA.
WWE Leaders and Lucha Legends Unite
Paul “Triple H” Levesque now leads AAA’s creative vision. At his side is longtime ally Jeremy Borash, bringing continuity and experience. They join forces with WWE Hall of Famer Mark Calaway—better known as The Undertaker—lucha icon Charles Ashenoff (Konnan), and AAA Director and former CEO, Dorian Roldan. Together, they combine WWE’s global production power with the authenticity of lucha libre.
Producers Drive the On-Screen Product
A stacked lineup of producers will shape the weekly product. Matt Bloom, Pete Dunne, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Jack “Moody Jack” Melendez, Juan Rivera (Savio Vega), and José Cordero (Lince Dorado) bring years of in-ring and backstage knowledge. This balance of veterans and fresh voices is designed to appeal to loyal lucha fans while attracting WWE’s mainstream audience.
Shawn Michaels’ Role and the Road Ahead
Shawn Michaels continues to advise Levesque, but his main focus stays with NXT. WWE officially announced the AAA acquisition in April, with the deal finalized last month. Now all eyes turn to the first crossover event—WWE-AAA Worlds Collide, set for Friday, September 12, in Las Vegas. The card will feature Dominik Mysterio challenging El Hijo del Vikingo for the AAA Mega Championship.
This new era could redefine how lucha libre reaches fans worldwide. With tradition meeting WWE’s innovation, AAA looks poised to climb to unprecedented heights.
