CMLL 93 Anniversary
Get ready for some high stakes chaos in the ring. The very first bout for the highly anticipated CMLL 93 Anniversary event is officially set, and it is a massive one. Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) has announced a tag team collision that will eventually tear friendships apart. Templario will team up with Último Guerrero. They will face the wild duo of Dragón Rojo Jr and Bárbaro Cavernario.
The Ultimate Lucha De Apuestas Twist
Winning this tag match sounds like a great idea, right? Well, there is a serious catch. The winning team will immediately turn against each other in a brutal Lucha De Apuestas match. The ultimate loser of that dramatic showdown will lose his mask. Strangely, almost everyone in this match has already lost their mask over the years. It seems Templario is the only one with his facial anonymity still intact. Talk about painting a giant target on your back.
Templario: The Masked Middleweight King
Templario currently rules the middleweight division. He holds both the CMLL World Middleweight Championship and the MLW World Middleweight Championship. Unsurprisingly, his real name remains a heavily guarded secret. He has kept his true identity hidden since adopting the Templario persona around 2012. He won the 2023 Universal Championship and has an impressive track record. Now, he just needs to survive this anniversary event without showing the world his actual face.
Último Guerrero
Partnering with Templario is the veteran Último Guerrero. In case you were wondering, he is not related to the famous Gory Guerrero family. His name simply means Last Warrior in Spanish. He is a former CMLL World Heavyweight Champion and a fixture in the booking committee. Último Guerrero famously lost his mask to Atlantis in 2014. Since he has no mask left to lose, you have to wonder what he is actually betting here. His pride, perhaps?
Dragón Rojo Jr
On the opposite corner stands Dragón Rojo Jr. He is a former CMLL World Middleweight Champion and a very decorated athlete. Interestingly, he lost his own mask to Templario at the CMLL 90th Anniversary show. This match gives him the perfect opportunity to enact some bitter revenge. Teaming with a literal caveman might just be the exact edge he needs to finally get even with his rival.
Bárbaro Cavernario
Rounding out the match is the incredibly eccentric Bárbaro Cavernario. After losing his mask early in his career, he embraced a bizarre caveman gimmick. He wears a hairy loincloth and acts like an absolute savage between wrestling moves. Cavernario is a former Mexican National Light Heavyweight Champion and won the Torneo Gran Alternativa. His erratic energy will undoubtedly make this tag team clash entirely unpredictable and chaotic.
