MMA Predators Salamanca to represent Mexico in Europe
MMA Predators Salamanca will represent Mexico in Europe at the prestigious International Martial Arts and Contact Sports Open. Scheduled for Saturday, May 3 in Ponferrada, Spain, this event represents a historic opportunity for the team. With their participation, they seek to inspire more young people from Guanajuato to compete in international arenas.
To make this trip possible, the team is organizing an MMA tournament endorsed by the Mexican Federation of Mixed Martial Arts(FAMM) and regulated by the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA).
Pass to Europe is obtained
The Predators Salamanca team secured its place in the European championship after winning a qualifying round held in Puebla. This event, organized by FAMM, marked the beginning of their international dream.
Ricardo Villalón, representative of the team, said: “We are always looking for opportunities for our athletes to stand out and show their talent. Thanks to contacts in the International Muay Thai Federation, we were able to open doors to Europe. We are excited to represent Mexico in Ponferrada on May 3rd.
Among the selected athletes are Alejandra Vido, Daniel Amezquita, Emmanuel Almanza and other young people between 10 and 26 years old who will compete in modalities such as Kickboxing-MMA and K1-MMA.
First foray into Europe
This will be the first time Predators Salamanca competes in Europe. Previously, one of its members represented Mexico in Colombia, achieving a top three in his category. Now, they are looking to show their level in Spain and already plan to compete in Italy in November.
Seeking Travel Support
The athletes are excited, but face significant financial challenges. They are training intensely and working with professionals such as Jess from Novaria Medik in physical therapy and Arénis Arias in psychological support.
To cover expenses, they are organizing raffles, local sales and looking for sponsors. In addition, they have scheduled an MMA tournament on February 21 and 23 at the Hotel El Monte, in Salamanca. This event, endorsed by FAMM and GAMMA, invites academies from all over the country to participate.
With effort and passion, MMA Predators Salamanca seeks to leave Mexico’s name high in Europe.
