Santiago Prieto in LUX Fight League Keeps Growing
Santiago Prieto in LUX Fight League has built an important part of his professional career in Mexico.
The Colombian fighter believes competing in an organization with a strong level of competition has forced him to evolve fight after fight.
“LUX has a good level. There are tough and talented fighters, so the position I’ve reached is simply the result of the commitment I put into every training session and every fight,” Prieto told Fajador.
His evolution has not only been reflected in his results.
Prieto says he has learned how to make better use of his physical attributes. In addition, facing increasingly prepared opponents has helped him gain experience and grow mentally.
“I’ve learned to make better use of my physical qualities, and there’s also the experience that comes from facing more prepared opponents as I continue moving up in the division,” he explained to Fajador.
Mexico, a Key Stage in His Development
Prieto left Colombia with only two professional fights and a 1-1 record.
At the time, according to Prieto, MMA activity in Colombia was much lower than it is today.
Mexico ultimately became a crucial part of his development.
“I left Colombia with only two professional fights. I left with a 1-1 record, and now I’m 11-2. Mexico has been key to my development,” Prieto told Fajador.
That journey has allowed him to gain experience, face stronger opposition and build a more solid path in professional MMA.
The Next Step
After continuing to grow in LUX, Prieto is already thinking about new challenges.
Among his goals is the possibility of competing on Dana White’s Contender Series or, if the opportunity comes first, making the jump directly to the UFC.
“I hope to fight for an opportunity on DWCS or, if God opens the door for me first, enter the UFC directly,” Prieto explained to Fajador.
A shot at the LUX title is also part of his plans as a way to stay active and continue facing strong competition.
However, Prieto says his main focus remains on the process.
“I try to focus more on my training, my performances and living in the present moment. I’m a man of faith, and I know the opportunity will come. I just train hard so that when it does, I’m ready,” he added.
From Colombia to Mexico, Prieto has built his career step by step.
Now, with an 11-2 record and an increasingly solid run in LUX Fight League, the Colombian continues adding experience while preparing for whatever challenge comes next.
