Komander
If you watch All Elite Wrestling (AEW) regularly, you have probably noticed that Komander has been missing from television since early September. His sudden disappearance from weekly programming left plenty of viewers wondering what happened behind the scenes. Now, we finally have some answers about where the popular luchador went—and why he has been off the road.
What is keeping Komander out of the ring?
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Komander is sidelined with an injury. Meltzer did not specify what the exact medical issue is, as the details are being kept quiet for now. Still, the mood backstage is optimistic, and people within AEW hope to see him back in the ring soon.
He certainly kept a packed schedule right before taking time off to heal. His last AEW television appearance was a loss to Nick Wayne on Collision, which came shortly after he worked the chaotic Casino Gauntlet match at All In London. From there, he headed down to Mexico in late September for a pair of tough CMLL dates. He came up short challenging Titan for the CMLL World Welterweight Championship, and then dropped a tag match alongside Bandido at Relevos Increibles the very next night.
From Reynosa rope-walker to AEW standout
Fans call the 27-year-old “El As del Espacio” for a reason: almost nobody walks the top rope quite like he does. He actually started practicing that balance at just twelve years old in his hometown of Reynosa, Mexico. That dedication paid off across the Mexican independent scene and in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, where he picked up both the Cruiserweight and Tag Team belts.
By 2022, his wild high-flying style began turning heads in the States through promotions like Game Changer Wrestling.WWE reportedly had eyes on him, too. Tony Khan moved faster, though, locking Komander into an AEW contract in April 2023 right after his show-stealing debut in the Face of the Revolution ladder match. Since then, he has held the ROH World Television Championship and teamed up with Hologram as Los Titanes del Aire. Whenever he is cleared to return, that division is waiting for him.
