In a shocking incident at a Triple A wrestling event in Denver, Mexican Lucha Libre wrestler Alexandra Bazadoni, also known as ‘La Hiedra,’ made headlines after confronting a fan who sexually assaulted her. The altercation, which has since gone viral, unfolded in the middle of the show, highlighting a troubling issue of audience conduct.
During the event, Bazadoni was in a corner of the ring when a fan slapped her on the buttocks. Her immediate response was to slap him back, as she described in a social media video. “Whenever someone grabs my butt, I slap them,” she explained, detailing her instinctive reaction.
The situation escalated as Bazadoni, furious, left the ring to confront the fan who was laughing and trying to leave. She kicked him in the back of the head while his back was turned, leading to a heated exchange. As the altercation intensified, a woman, presumably the fan’s companion, intervened and confronted Bazadoni. The two exchanged blows before security intervened to prevent further escalation.
Bazadoni expressed her frustration with the lack of immediate support from others present. “The toxic ones (fighters) hadn’t noticed. I turned around and kicked the guy. They managed to grab the old lady… I wish it had been in Mexico so I could sue him,” she said, reflecting on the lack of formal recourse available to her in the U.S.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion about safety and respect at live events. While Bazadoni’s bold response has garnered both praise and criticism, the wrestling community is rallying around her, emphasizing the need for better protective measures for performers.
As the story continues to unfold, it serves as a stark reminder of the challenges wrestlers face, both inside and outside the ring, and the importance of ensuring a safe environment for all involved
