A Historic Celebration of Martial Arts Excellence
The Dominican Republic prepares for a powerful celebration of talent, honor, and legacy. This Sunday, November 30, the XIV Ceremonial of the Dominican Martial Arts Hall of Fame will immortalize 14 remarkable athletes. The “Baño de la Inmortalidad” begins at 10:00 AM inside the prestigious Pabellón de la Fama del Centro Olímpico.
This year, Fernando Hasbún takes the role of president of honor. He is a respected businessman, television leader, and longtime athlete who continues to support the growth of Dominican sports. In addition, the ceremony will pay tribute to Maestro Miguel Peña, a true icon of discipline, leadership, and passion.
New Inductees Entering Martial Arts Immortality
After months of evaluation, the SAFAMRD Permanent Committee selected a new generation of champions. Their accomplishments raised Dominican martial arts to national and international recognition.
In Judo, Leidi Germán, Ekers E. Raposo, and Félix Lebrón will receive their honors. Meanwhile, César Langa earns a special distinction for a long career that inspired athletes across the country.
Ju-Jitsu standout Abraham Tabar and Kung Fu master Miguel Abreu will also be inducted. Karate gains strong representation with Alberto Moreta Mancebo, Alcibíades Peña Escalante, and Edwin Beltré. They built success with discipline, dedication, and competitive excellence.
Recognizing Influence Beyond the Mat
More outstanding figures entering the Hall include Juan Raúl Suazo Melenciano (Kung Fu), Alejandro Serrallés (Ju-Jitsu), and José R. Del Rosario (Kung Fu). Furthermore, José Manuel Silverio, Jorge Amauri Guerrero, and Héctor Pilier from Tae Kwon Do will be celebrated. Pilier receives recognition for advancing the discipline in La Romana.
Honoring Institutions Shaping the Future
The celebration also highlights institutions creating opportunities for young athletes. Arelis Brito, the Sabana Grande de Boyá School, and the Los Cachorros Sports and Cultural Club continue to build the future of Dominican martial arts.
Supported by Distribuidora Corripio and Fundación Macarrulla, this milestone event strengthens the legacy of martial arts. It honors legends while motivating the next generation to rise.
