Empire MMA
Empire MMA is going live for the first time in the U.S. this Friday the 19th at 8 p.m. ET, thanks to a new partnership between Grupo JK and the FAST channel Telemundo Deportes Ahora. The broadcast, produced by Sebastián Jiménez of JK Media Group, will air directly from Medellín, Colombia.
This marks a historic moment. Known as Latin America’s premier mixed martial arts platform, it aims to showcase elite fighters while uplifting talent from underrepresented communities. Through dynamic events, top-tier training, and mentorship, Empire MMA is building a bridge from Latin America to the world.
Santos vs. López Headlines Championship Card
The night’s main event features a Flyweight Championship (125 lbs) bout between Iván Santos (4–1) and Duvan Felipe López (3–2). Both fighters are known for their explosive pace and relentless drive. Without a doubt, this matchup promises fireworks.
But that’s just the start.
The co-main events include a Lightweight (154 lbs) clash between Leonardo Rodríguez (9–2) and Juan José Ibáñez (13–5–1). In addition, Bantamweights Mariana Sales (4–2) and Luisa Cifuentes (5–4) square off in a high-stakes duel that mixes grit and technical brilliance.
A Cultural Movement, Not Just a Fight Card
“This is an exciting step for Empire MMA,” said Jiménez. “We’re bringing world-class fights from Colombia to American homes.”
Meanwhile, Empire founder Héctor Castro emphasized the deeper mission: “This is more than just a fight night—it’s an international showcase. We’re putting Latin America’s best talent in front of fans who deserve to see themselves, their culture, and their fighting spirit on screen.”
