AKAM Cup 2026
Martial arts fans are in for an incredible treat this year! The highly anticipated AKAM Cup 2026 is officially returning to the beautiful Atlantic Coast. On Sunday, May 31, athletes will gather at the Club Teléfonos indoor gym in Mar del Plata. The popular venue, located at 6810 Florisbelo Acosta, will host an absolutely unforgettable display of athletic talent.
A Thrilling Showcase of Martial Arts
This annual tournament consistently brings together elite schools from across the entire region. Spectators will enjoy watching exciting matches in Karate, Tang Soo Do, Kick Boxing, Ninjutsu, Kung Fu, and Taekwondo. Over twenty cities will participate, including Pinamar, Villa Gesell, Miramar, and Necochea.
Necochea will proudly send its absolute best competitors to the mat. The highly respected local Martial Arts Academy, led by Sabonin Carlos Correa, is ready to shine. Additionally, Sensei Rosa Parson will represent the Shotokan Karate International Federation. They are extremely eager to challenge the strong defending champions. Last year, the Superior Taekwondo Academy, guided by Master Alejandro Yapuncic, took the top prize. They have already confirmed their return to defend the crown.
Schedule and Exciting Event Details
The dynamic schedule is carefully designed for maximum spectator excitement. The tournament kicks off at 9:00 AM with the junior categories. Next, the youth divisions begin at 12:00 PM. Finally, the adult competitors will take the center stage at 2:00 PM.
Matches will happen across six simultaneous competition areas. Also, fans can watch thrilling black belt team events, featuring both combat and forms.
Daniel Oberts, the proud president of the Korean Martial Arts Association and event organizer, is thrilled. He shared his genuine excitement about hosting the prestige event again. He expects a massive turnout of dedicated competitors and enthusiastic fans. It promises to be a massive gathering for the martial arts community.
