Mendez will return to La Jaula for a featured fight on Combate Global against Rafael Monterola on Thursday, April 24., live on YouTube at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT/18:00 HRS (Mexico)
Reality show star and recording artist Jawy Mendez will return to La Jaula for a second COMBATE GLOBAL Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fight and take on Rafael Monterola on Thursday, April 24, live on YouTube at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT (18:00 HRS in Mexico) from Miami.
The fight between Mendez of Mexico City, Mexico and Monterola of Bronx, N.Y. will be streamed live, worldwide, for free, along with five other previously announced COMBATE GLOBAL fights on both COMBATE GLOBAL’s English-language YouTube channel and its Spanish-language YouTube channel.

In the previously announced bantamweight (135 lbs.) main event, Ismael “Kraken” Zamora (8-3) of Mexico City will face Harry “El Cuervo” Gomez (11-2) of Santa Elena, Ecuador.
Mendez, 36, shared information about his training camp at MMA Masters, which has produced more than 100 MMA and kickboxing champions and is home to several superstars of the sport, as well as facing Monterola, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu competitor and former amateur MMA fighter.
“Jawy has been an excellent student, training every day,” said Danny “The Colombian Warrior” Chavez, a member of the MMA Masters fight team and coach at the camp. “He’s a fast learner and I’m very impressed with his ability to apply the techniques he’s learning during training.
“He’s taking this fight very seriously,” Chavez continued, “and he’s treating his conditioning, his nutrition and his overall training like a pro. He’s going to show that he’s evolved since his last fight when he steps into The Cage on April 24.”
This is what Méndez said:
On what he has experienced at the MMA Masters:
A very new experience for me, coming to one of the best places to train with the highest level fighters and meet the demands and classes giving the best of me in each training has been a dream.
About the new things he has learned in the training camp:
I am focusing on floor fighting and I really have a lot of things to learn and a long way to go. But without a doubt I have taken advantage of every tip and advice from both masters and fighters who by the way received me spectacularly.

On how he feels going into the fight with Monterola, compared to how he felt going into his first COMBATE GLOBAL fight:
Last time I really didn’t have much of an idea of what a professional fight was all about. That’s why I have committed myself completely in my training and in my next fight you will notice a great evolution. I still have a lot to learn, it’s not easy to jump from networks and television to professionalism in mma, but it will certainly be a much more organized fight.
On his prediction for the fight with Monterola:
The only prediction that might be on any fighter’s mind in mma masters. I don’t plan on breaking the winning streak.
