Lucha Libre
The Los Angeles Dodgers recently celebrated another vibrant edition of Mexican Heritage Night. To kick off the festivities against the Colorado Rockies, special guests took the field. Lucha Libre Stars Xelhua and Máscara Dorada from the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) made a grand appearance. Instead of throwing the first pitch, the masked duo pumped up the crowd. They proudly shouted the iconic phrase, “It is time for Dodgers baseball!”
A Truly Stunning Talavera Jersey
During the event, both wrestlers wore stunning commemorative jerseys. These special uniforms featured beautiful details inspired by talavera pottery. This incredible art style is a massive part of Mexican culture, especially in Puebla. Fans could easily spot the talavera patterns on a horizontal stripe across the bottom. Plus, the famous Dodger lettering proudly displayed the beautiful design inside the text.
Honoring Mexican Heritage
While the wrestlers energized the fans, civil rights legend Dolores Huerta actually threw the first pitch. Mexican Heritage Night is an annual celebration at Dodger Stadium. The event honors Mexican culture through amazing food, live music, and special guests. Los Angeles holds one of the largest Latino communities in the United States. Because of this deep connection, the Dodgers have hosted this special night since the year twenty seventeen.
Dodgers Dominate The Rockies
Meanwhile, the exciting baseball action on the playing field was just as thrilling. Manager Dave Roberts happily watched his team crush the Rockies with a final score of fifteen to six. Andy Pages had an absolutely incredible game, recording four hits, one home run, and three runs batted in. Also, Mookie Betts happily delivered a stellar performance with three hits, two home runs, and five runs batted in.
A Very Quiet Night For Ohtani
However, superstar Shohei Ohtani had a surprisingly quiet evening overall. He managed only one single hit during his two plate appearances. Sadly, the amazing player had to leave the baseball game very early. He unfortunately suffered an abrupt exit after a rogue baseball violently struck his right hand.
